IT HAS BEEN ON MY MIND! I want to be a better Muslim #TURNINGPOINT

Allaah

11th March, 2015. Wednesday

Reviving the Islam in me and you….

Very often we seem to ignore some very crucial things that we are supposed to consider in our lives! We take delight, not only in disobeying, but in displeasing Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal to suit our carnal desires. Allaah, being a Patient God, tolerates us and still bestows His profound and all-embracing Mercy upon us. May Allaah forgive us all, purify our hearts and make us of those who are conscious of Him all the days of our earthly lives, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem!

All praise and thanks are due to Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of any kind of worship but Allaah, and I bear witness that the Prophet Muhammad SAW is the seal of the Prophets and Messengers.

I seek the help of Allaah to grant us understanding of the religion of Islam and affirm us with Tauhid (monotheism). And to save us from all fitna (trials and tribulations), Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem

I further seek the help of Allaah to grant me all the necessary wisdom, knowledge and understanding of Islam that I need to achieve the burning desire I have of propagating and proclaiming the true Islam of QaalaAllaahu and QaalaRasulluhu SAW to the world, and females most especially, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem.

As a mere servant of Allaah, I am always striving to be a better Muslimah every day, I pray Allaah grants me the ability to do everything solely for the sake of Allaah! And I pray Allaah makes me of those who practice what they proclaim, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem.

For a while now, I have been thinking about these issues of …

  1. People who say they are Muslims but yet neglect Sualat (five daily obligatory prayers).
  1. People who claim to be Muslims but barely pick up the Qur’an to recite not to mention reading and reflecting on the verses.
  1. People who claim to be Muslims but have very little time to supplicate to Allaah.
  1. People who claim to be Muslims and yet do not feel Islam within them.
  1. Ladies who claim to be Muslims but do not wear the hijab and take delight in displaying their adornments and the fixing of artificial hair.

SubhaanAllaah! I have been thinking about these for a long time and in shaa Allaah I have something to do about it in my own little way and I pray for Allaah to help me do it and put Baraka in it for me and the Ummah at large, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem.

SubhaanAllaah! We all have to be very cautious of the life we live because, subhaanAllaah we will account for everything we do in this world. May Allaah have mercy on us all and make us better Muslims who will sincerely serve Him alone and succeed in this world and the hereafter, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem.

Alhamdulilaah, today is another day for us to reconcile with Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal and be true Muslims whose lifestyles depict Islam. I just remembered something, yes! The issue of listening to worldly music! Ya Sallaam! Some people are super addicted to it that they cannot do anything without it Yaa Sallaam! “What is Shatta Wale saying that is so pleasing and soothing to you than the Qur’an?!” Waiting for your answer…..

SubhaanAllaah we have to be very mindful of the life we live! So many of us have memorized so many of this worldly songs unconsciously because we have lost that connection with Allaah due to our disobedience and heedlessness to the rules of Islam! How many verses of the Qur’an have we memorized? Do we feel anything in our hearts or within us when the Qur’an is being recited? If we don’t feel anything then there is a big problem and we must seek the remedy as soon as possible in shaa Allaah!

Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal says in the Noble Qur`an, “The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Qur’an) are recited unto them, they increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone).” [Al-Anfaal (8):2]

“Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe to be affected by Allah’s Reminder and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before, and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were rebellious, disobedient (faasiqoon).” [Al-Hadeed, (57):16]

Let us reflect on these verses in shaa Allaah! May Allaah increase us in understanding of the deen, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem

Some students and candidates say “me I learn with music oh”, “me I cannot learn without music oh”, “I love music, music is the food for the soul”

Yaa Sallaam! Who said that? That’s what you think! Right? Please change your way of thinking for it shan’t help you in any way at all. And I tell you it’s very possible to break that addiction to worldly music.

Few weeks ago, I was in the office when I received a call from a brother who sought for my advice on his problem of addiction to worldly music some time ago during our days on campus. Masha’a Allah, this is a brother I didn’t even follow up on him after our initial conversation! And you know what? He called to say: “Alhamdulilaah, I have succeeded, with the help of Allah to break the addiction to worldly music” while thanking and praying for me.

Alhamdulilaah that was very fulfilling and that is to tell each and every one addicted to worldly music that OH YES YOU CAN BREAK THAT ADDICTION.

On 22nd February, 2015, Alhamdulilaah, I had the honour of sharing MY TURNING POINT TO ISLAM with the Muslim Association in Ada. During the question and answer session after my presentation, a matured person stood up to ask a question which I am paraphrasing here: “as a Muslim, can I say that I will be obedient to Allaah but listen to worldly music 10% to sooth me “ No! subhaanAllaah! This should tell us how addicted we’ve become to worldly music.

I have witnessed so many people debate on whether it is haram to listen to these worldly music or not, but I think our individual consciences will answer us in shaa Allaah!  I am not a scholar, I am a mere servant of Allaah who is still learning Islam every day! But, why won’t we shift our interests to listening to the voices of Abdul Rahman Sudais, Minshawi, Okasha and all the other beautiful reciters of the Noble Qur’an who recite nothing but the words of Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal! What is more soothing than this? As Allah azza wa Jal has stated in His Noble Qur’an:

“…Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest” [Ar-Ra’d, (13):28]

Alhamdulilaah I attest that it is the soothing to my heart! words can’t be used to express how I feel when adhan is called, its super soothing to my heart, I love it!

It is possible in shaa Allaah, you only have to take that bold decision to flee from this addiction to worldly music to becoming a Qur’an addict. May Allaah make it easy for us all and help us affirm the decision of staying away from worldly music and be addicted to the Qur’an, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem.

I hope you sincerely made the above dua’ from your heart?! Keep smiling for the sake of Allaah! It’s sadaqah,

Alhamdulilaah you have taken a potent decision and I pray Allaah makes it easy for you to adhere and affirm that decision, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem

SubhaanAllaah I just realized I have three pages, I hope it won’t be that lengthy, praying to be concise….smiling

Now let us talk about being a Muslim, what is it about being a Muslim? What is the core thing about being a Muslim?

Being a Muslim is about voluntarily proclaiming the kalimatu Shahada, that is bearing witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allaah and that further bearing witness that Muhammad SAW is the Final Prophet and Messenger of Allah.

Being a Muslim is about submitting all your wills and desires to Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal.

Being A Muslim is about putting Allaah first in everything you do.

Being a Muslim is about passing everything you want do through the filter of Islam, Hence, knowing the Islamic stands of your actions as much as possible.

Being a Muslim is about adhering to what pleases Allaah and abstaining from what displeases Allaah!

Ouch! It’s getting lengthy and lengthier, but please pardon me for it’s important I say something about the five Muslims I talked about earlier. Smiling….

  1. People say they are Muslims but yet Neglect Sualat (five daily obligatory prayers).

SubhaanAllaah! What is the value of the five daily Sualat in Islam?!

My fellow Muslims who do not pray five times in a day, please note that the five daily prayers are mandatory on every Muslim! It is not optional, but rather, an obligation from Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal! And SubhaanAllaah that is one primary issue we will be asked about in the hereafter. May Allaah make it easy for us and help us perform the sualat in the right manner with complete khushoo, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem.

“Those who are steadfast in seeking the face of their Lord, and establish salat and give from the provision We have given them, secretly and openly, and stave off evil with good, it is they who will have the ultimate Abode.” (Surat ar-Ra’d, 22)

“[Ibrahim said:] “My Lord! Make me and my descendants people who establish salat. My Lord! Accept my prayer.” (Surah Ibrahim, 40)

If we succeed in performing our sualat in the right way and submissive and solemn mood Allaah assures us that our sualat will prevent us from immoralities.

“Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish salat. Salat precludes indecency and wrongdoing. And remembrance of Allah is greater still. Allah knows what you do. “(Surat al-‘Ankabut, 45)

  1. People who claim to be Muslims but barely pick up the Qur`an to recite not to mention reading and reflecting on the verses.

Allah says in the Qur’an in Sura Bani-Israel, verse 9: “Indeed this Qur’an guides to the path which is clearer and straighter than any other.”

Allah says in Sura An-Nahl, verse 89:

“………… We have revealed to you the book which clarifies every matter…….”

Allaah, in the Noble Qur’an commands humanity that:

“This is the Book. In it is guidance surely without any doubt, to those who fear God, who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what we have provided for them.” (Sura Baqarah, verses 2 and 3)

SubhaanAllaah! I personally see the Qur’an to be the divine spiritual and physical gift from Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal!

The Qur’an is the manual of the Muslim and humanity at large!

The Qur’an is the reference book of the Muslim

The Qur’an contains articulate and heart soothing speeches of Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal.

Allaah speaks to us through the verses of the Qur’an.

My fellow Muslims we can never do without the Qur’an, so it is encouraged that we build a very strong and an unbreakable relationship with the Qur’an.

The simile of our aimlessness/uselessness without the Qur’an is to that of the Captain/Pilot without his compass.

Every manufacturer attaches a manual to his or her product.

Scenario

When you buy a brand new mobile phone and you open the box you will see the mobile phone, a small booklet called the manual, and other peripherals. The manual will educate you on how to use the mobile phone effectively and efficiently without any under- and/ or over- utilization.

As human beings, we were undeniably created by Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal and undoubtedly, Allaah knows us best and most importantly, Allaah knows both that which is good and that which is bad for us.

Allaah subsequently gave us the Qur’an to serve as guidance for us, to serve as a glad tiding to the righteous and the Qur’an to serve as a warning to the disobedient people and the disbelievers. This is because all manuals come with their do’s and don’ts, but most appropriately, the Qur’an always provides a way of right our wrongs. The Perfect MANUAL, if you ask me!

The Qur’an will tell us who Allaah is, What Allaah is capable of doing, the Qur’an will tell us what pleases Allaah and what displeases Allaah!

Alhamdulilaah! I will tell you that my motivation and passion for Islam grew from reading the Qur’an and meditating on the verses of the Qur’an. Very often, when I am reading the Qur’an I feel Allaah is speaking directly to me.

Some of us think the Qur’an is only for those who can speak and read Arabic. My native language is Yoruba and I, like many others as much as possible, am striving to learn Arabic. That hasn’t prevented me from reading the King Fahd translation of the noble Qur’an to support my weak Arabic and gain more understanding of the verses of the Qur’an. So even if you don’t understand the Arabic language, you can get authentic translations of the Noble Qur’an and be reading daily. If you read and you don’t understand something, you go back to trusted Imams and Sheikhs to enlighten you in shaa Allaah! But SubhaanAllaah! The Arabic language is the best language for transmission of the Qur’an so it is highly encouraged that we all strive to learn and perfect our understanding of the Arabic Language in shaa Allaah! May Allaah make it easy for us all and put great Baraka in it for us, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem.

  1. People who claim to be Muslims but have very little time to supplicate to Allaah.

In Islam to ask Allah for your needs and wants is an act of worship, oh yes! Allaah knows what you want but Allaah still said we should ask Him, we should supplicate to Allaah at all times whether in adversity or in prosperity.

After our sualat we should to sit down and make dua to Allaah! Praise Him, Exalt Him and seek Allaah’s help with patience and prayer. Very often, we think Allaah doesn’t answer our prayers, subhaanAllaah! Don’t think that way, It could be that the particular thing you are requesting for isn’t good for you now, and it could also be that Allaah has a better plan for you, so keep praying and never give up, always know and admit that Allaah knows what is best for you. Khair in shaa Allaah! Are you smiling……

Allaah as Surah Al-Baqarah, ayah 216, “…………………..But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.”

The Prophet (SAW) said: “Dua is worship.” [Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, 3372; Abu Dawood, 1479; Ibn Maajah, 3828; classed as Saheeh by Al-Albaani in Saheeh Al-Tirmidhi, 2590]

Al-Tirmidhi narrated that Al-Nu’maan ibn Basheer (RA) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say on the minbar: “Dua is worship.” Then he recited the verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And your Lord said: Invoke Me [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism) and ask Me for anything] I will respond to your (invocation)…”[Al-Tirmidhi said: a Saheeh hasan hadith]

Not making Dua makes Allah angry

The Prophet (SAW) said: “Whoever does not ask of Allah, He becomes angry with him.” [Classed as hasan by Al-Albaani. Saheeh Sunan Al-Tirmidhi, 2686]

  1. People who claim to be Muslims and yet do not feel Islam within them.

SubhaanAllaah! It is not normal for you to claim to be a Muslim and not feel Islam within you! That should tell us there is a problem somewhere. And this feeling might have been attained from the individual’s persistence in disobeying Allaah, Not performing suala, being heedless about Allaah’s commandments, disobeying Allaah and His Messenger. SubhaanAllah! Alhamdulilaah I have an article in this blog tap/click this link https://rayhanyaqubpublication.wordpress.com/2014/07/18/10-steps-to-gain-the-pleasure-and-love-of-allaah/ to read it, the article is about how to get closer to Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal!

  1. Ladies who claim to be Muslims but do not wear the hijab and take delight in displaying their adornments and the fixing of artificial hair.

SubhaanAllaah! My fellow Muslim ladies hijab is an obligation from Allaah ‘Azza wa jal, and the hijab is compulsory. Islam is against us attaching hair to our God-given her, please let us abstain from the act of attaching artificial hair to our natural hair! May Allaah forgive us all.

When some sisters are reminded to wear hijab they say: “don’t judge me, Allaah knows my heart”, “Islam is in the heart, not in the hijab” Oh yes! Allaah knows everybody’s heart, but we should all understand that when Islam enters the heart, hijab comes naturally! Because the Islam in our hearts will affirm our hijab. May Allaah forgive us all and keep guiding our paths towards His pleasure, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem!

Allaah ‘Azza wa Jal says in the Qur’an, in surah Al- A’raf (7) ayah 26

“O you Children of Adam! We have bestowed on you raiment to cover your shame as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness, that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition.”

“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, or their brothers’ sons or their sisters’ sons, or their women or the servants whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex, and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O you Believers, turn you all together towards Allah, that you may attain Bliss.” (Quran 24:31).

“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognized and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (Quran 33:59)

No one has the right to judge anyone, Yes Allaah is the only Judge, And Allaah has knowledge of everything, but it is incumbent on each and every Muslim to remind the fellow Muslim on what is right and what is wrong, and this reminder must be done in a honourable and wise manner such that you don’t make the person feel so evil and inferior.

Sheikh Muiz Bukhary said “When correcting others, do not come down on them in a harsh or condescending manner. Rather do it in a soft and kind manner, taking care not to hurt that individual’s feeling in any way”

And please let us not brand or tag the people who remind us of what Islam says as “extremist”, “too known”, “judging”, “karambaani”, “haram” Are you smiling……

They love us and want the best for us that is why they remind us of what Allaah says and what the Prophet SAW says.

Please about the hijab again, Alhamdulilaah the Muslim Right Front has taken a good cause to advocate for our rights to practice our Islam and not to be forced to take off the hijab in schools and at the work place. Alhamdulilaah! We can now wear our head scarves but there is a serious challenge somewhere and we pray for Allaah’s Mercy.

When our fellow Muslim sisters deliberately sew and adjust the dress such that it becomes very tight on them and above the knee! SubhaanAllaah! We should be very mindful of all these attitudes.

In shaa Allaah! I will write an article about hijab to address this issue in shaa Allaah! May Allaah grant me the ability to write it and practice my hijab the right way, and may Allaah all sisters the ability to practice the hijab the right way, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem

In shaa Allaah I would like to pause here for now. Alhamdulilaah for the ni`ma of Allaah to be able to communicate this message to my fellow Muslims.

I pray that Allah forgives me for the errors I made in this write up, all credit belongs to Him who is Perfect and flaws are mine as a result of my imperfection.

Finally I seek Allaah’s divine forgiveness for the one reading this and for myself. Aameen!

My dear sisters and brothers, please don’t hesitate to draw my attention to any mistake that you come across in this article and in all my articles in shaa Allaah!

May Allah forgive us all, help us serve Him with ikhlas, purify our hearts, make us of those who are conscious of and mindful of Him, and help us have Him at heart, and help us succeed in this world and the hereafter, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem

Assallaamu alaykum warahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu

Thanks a lot for reading this article, Alhamdulilaah  for your intention to practice Islam for the sake of Allaah! May Allah make it easy for us all, Aameen!

Jazakumullaahu khairan, I entreat you to read it again, and reflect on it and please share with family and friends.

Keep smiling for the sake of Allaah it’s sadaqah…

I would like to thank brother Haruna Rashid Muhammad for reading through for me! May Allaah reward you greatly, Aameen ya GafuuruRaheem

Quick Reminder in shaa Allaah! The season 3 of the TRIPLET LADIES SEMINAR will be in Takoradi on 28th  March, 2015. At Airforce Mosque Takoradi, 9 am prompt in shaa Allaah! RSVP 0240101057/ 0209294218/

RYF Triplet Ladies` Seminar: Sis Hudrah Larry Shares with us

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

Assallaamun alaykum warahmatullaahi wa barakaatu beloved sisters and brothers,

Alhamdu lil lLaah for the blessings of Islam, Alhamdu lil lLaah for the lives of the organizers of the seminar and the members of the Rayhan Yaqub Foundation. Jazaakumullaah khair! May Allah subhaanahu wa ta aalaa continue to bless you all abundantly.

Nevertheless, the chairman, Imaam Abass Abdul Karim, may Allah put more Rahma in your life, and the speakers, in no particular other, Hajia Huraira Abdul Razak, Imam Abdul Wahab Jasaw and Hajia Zubaida Issah, Jazaakumullah khair! May Allah increase you all in beneficial knowledge to continue to impart on others. Aameen ya Rabbi! Of course the seminar would not have been successful without the ladies who participated, including myself, Alhamdu lil lLah for our lives. May we be able to actualise what we have learnt and be able to inculcate it into the lives of other people wherever we find ourselves, Aameen.

The maiden Ladies’ Triplet Seminar was the first of its kind. Personally I really have never had the opportunity to attend an all ladies’ seminar, so with this one of its kind, I must confess that it was all exciting right from the beginning to the end. I had expected the best and my expectation was simply met. I had learnt great lessons! Everything was laudable, from the activities of the organisation to the short video shows, the choice of speakers coupled with the free books, not forgetting the meal. I enjoyed the food so much that I carried some home to tell my family the kind of programme I attended for FREE.That is just by the way.

I would like to use this opportunity to commend the organisers again on the video shows. I am very particular on it because I believe the human mind learns to capture things faster with visuals and what is learnt forever remains indelible on the mind.

Moving to the main issues concerning the seminar, I would start with the first video show. A short Islamic movie titled “CHANGE OF HEART”. I would give a brief description of the movie.

“CHANGE OF HEART”

The story talks about a young couple who got separated because of the past mistakes of the wife from which she learns and repents. The husband gets to know the mistakes from outside and tries to judge her, but realises he was wrong that only Allah SWT has the authority to be a judge and He alone accepts sincere repentance and forgives.

From this short video, I had learnt numerous lessons but I would put much emphasis on three main values that play key roles in every human relation looking at it from another angle of the story. They are in other of priority;

  1. Trust
  2. Acceptance
  3. Understanding

“TRUST” plays an important role in a relationship. A couple who has no trust for each other are bound to doubt each other and this leads to other different negative effects altogether. So a couple should be able to have trust for each other in the sense that information about either party heard from outside must not be brought into the marriage and vice versa and must not have an adverse effect on the marriage.

Based on my perspective about the movie, the husband would not have reacted the way he did if he had trust for his wife. He could have used it as a tool to strengthen the bond between them. He would not have paid much attention to the information in the first place. So from here I got to learn that the absence of “trust” in a relationship especially marriage is detrimental to it survival.

The second one is “ACCEPTANCE”. I had learnt that In every relationship, we must accept people for who they are, in other words we must accept what they are now and their past experiences (mistakes) though they may still live with guilts. Once we say we love someone and accept them, we have accepted everything about them including their current and past lives.

Notwithstanding the fact that love is a must, understanding should be present, and it is only achieved through effective communication. If effective and efficient communication set in the relationship, it brings about a better and a mutual understanding which could safeguard the relationship against all the negative effects bi idhniAllah.

The following among other points are the lessons I picked directly from the movie like

_Avoid passing quick judgment on others

_Mistakes are part of our lives to make us better people.

_Allah forgives whoever He wills and accepts a sincere tawbah (repentance)

Qur’an 66:08 says

Surah At-Tahrim, Verse 8:

O you who believe! turn to Allah with a sincere turning; maybe your Lord will remove from you your evil and cause you to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, on the day on which Allah will not abase the Prophet (SAW) and those who believe with him; their light shall run on before them and on their right hands; they shall say: Our Lord! make perfect for us our light, and grant us protection, surely Thou hast power over all things.

THE FIRST LECTURE

“Reviving the sense of responsibility in the muslimah” by Hajia Huraira Abdul Razak.

Hajia in her lecture said something that caught my attention, she said “Children are the message we send into the future that we may not live to see” this short sentence to me speaks volumes, she made us understand that the role of a Muslimah in the family is to take care of the home and whatever is in it especially the children.

The Muslimah should strive to be good in every affair because she nurtures the children, by doing this she sets good examples for the children. Moreover, she will be accountable for the moral upbringing of her children so she must strive to make them good people in the society. Teach and lead the children by example.

And also have a good character and be considerate towards other people in the society.

SECOND LECTURE

I believe I can fly back to Allah by Imam Abdul Wahab Jassaw

From this lecture I got to know about the 3 Cs to help fly back to Allah

1) Have Conscience.

2) Be Considerate

3) Be Compassionate

I will explain briefly in shaa Allaah

  1. CONSCIENCE

Have a CONSCIENCE in relating to others and ourselves. Be able to detect whether our actions are helping others or not.

  1. CONSIDERATE

We should learn to consider other people in whatever we do. Put ourselves in their situation in other to help them better.

We should try to help them without being judgmental and disloyal. He used the mirror to give an insightful meaning of this point. The mirror reflects the image of a person when he/she stands in front of the mirror, but the image disappears when the person moves from where the mirror is.

We should all consider being like the mirror. Listen to other people’s problems and keep them confidential and avoid making them feel guilty about their mistakes.

  1. COMPASSION

Simply, be selfless and try not to hurt the feelings of other people. Have that sacrificial attitude and most importantly love one another for the sake of Allah.

These are the Golden rules to help fly back to Allah. Be proud of the Islam you have.

If you are blessed to know Allah, His Prophet S.A.W and understand Islam, why not carry your sister who is weak in heart along. We should strive to always be there for one another as Qur’an 49:10 says

Surah Al-Hujraat, Verse 10:

The believers are but brethren, therefore make peace between your brethren and be careful of (your duty to) Allah that mercy may be had on you.

Be proud of the good Muslimah that you are and make everyone look up to you.

THIRD LECTURE

Muslimah Muslimah Palaver by Aunty Zubaida Issah

Wonderful lecture and topic .She talked about some negative traits that we need to throw away like Backbiting, suspicion which are all prohibited in Islam as the Qur’an says

Surah Al-Hujraat, Verse 12:

O you who believe! Avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful

So the Muslimah shouldn’t go anywhere near them. As muslimahs, we’ll be faced with these challenges but always seek refuge in Allah from Shaitaan the outcast and Allah will make it easy for us.

As a muslimah, your presence shouldn’t be a threat to the society. You should be environmentally friendly and make the community a comfortable place for everyone. If Allah has blessed you with Taqwa, you should try to do the right thing everywhere and in all situations, and He blessed you with the ni’ima to wear hijab, cover up, you should not be complacent and not be judgemental.

The above point further explains the lessons I had learnt from the second video show.

If a friend is not a hijabi, this should give you the opportunity to help her start wearing and not make her feel inferior.

I could not finish adding this

“Talk small and ponder a lot” Hajia Zubaida

A life time lesson!

Finally, all the speakers I believe are telling us one thing; Planning our lives well now for a better hereafter.

In a nut shell, it was exciting, insightful, and inspirational.

The Rayhan Yaqub Foundation (RYF) served us beyond our expectations, and in fact the RYF fulfilled their theme Awakening the Pearls of Islam! The RYF are very creative and has got a lot of positive activities to introduce into the Islamic community in all aspects of life to revive the Islam in us, as the RYF motto proclaims “REVIVING THE ISLAM IN YOU” and help us fly back to Allah.

RYF Triplet Ladies` Seminar: Sis. Luthphya Shares with Us

Assallaamu alaykum warahmatullaahi wa barakaatu my beloved sisters and brothers,

Few weeks ago Rayhan Yaqub Foundation (RYF) organized a Triplet Ladies Seminar

Theme: Awakening the pearls of Islam

This seminar in shaa Allaah is intended to be held in three Regions in Ghana (Greater Region, Western Region and Ashanti Region)

In each region there will be Three Lectures delivered in shaa Allaah by three Speakers

Hence Triplet Ladies Seminar

Alhamdulilaah! the first seminar has been held in Accra on 24th January, 2015. At the Daarul Arkam Academy.

A participant shares her lessons from the seminar with us In shaa Allaah, please endeavour to share with others too,

Luthphya writes…….

Many unceasing reminders went around channeling the various social media, announcing the maiden Triplet Ladies Seminar (a sisters’ only program) of the Rayhan Yaqub Foundation; another brain of Kabirat Ahmed Salihs, a sister who equalizes as the author of the Light Upon Light (Nuurun alaa Nuur) books (3 editions)

The Rayhan Yaqub Foundation just added up to the numerous existing ones but this foundation utterly comes in a different approach. It focuses mainly on the young Muslimahs and its operations are such that, the Muslimah youth will enjoy free counseling, mentoring, packed Islamic programs, career guidance, personal development and spiritual development, this is just to mention a few, and be giving free Islamic books, audios and videos lectures, etc. Now; this is a non profitable organization which really cares! Always don`t hesistate to contact us in shaa Allaah.

The Seminar which attracted Muslimat from various destinations within Accra was such an insightful one which left in the heart of attendants a profound Islamic knowledge and the quest to establish a good relationship with Allah.

Personally I benefited much from the seminar which is going to help me for life in my struggles of becoming a better Muslimah, and I never can by analysis tell which section of the seminar was the best because in each section I learnt something new which tend to answer some unasked questions on my lips, and solved many disturbing problems in my heart.

Many at times we become so relaxed in inviting people to Islam; an activity which in reality is an everyday responsibility. And this is not done only by preaching Islam to them but as well the way we carry ourselves about speaks for Islam therefore how positive or negative people will perceive Islam also depends on our behaviors.

Reviving a Sense of Responsibility in the Muslimah by Hajia Huraira Abdul Razak

To be able to achieve this, Hajia Huraira Abdul Razak handled the first section of the seminar, on the topic ‘reviving the sense of responsibility in the Muslimah,’ and truly at the end of her lectures she was able to revive any dead sense of responsibility in us, in me especially.

She focused on how as Muslimahs we can positively touch people lives in our communities and further stressed on the need to make it part of our daily lives. In summary, the followings are some of the excerpts from her lecture;

‘If Allah SWT has saved you to understand Islam, don’t look down on those lacking the understanding of the Deen (Religion). Be environmentally friendly and let your attitude bring them into Islam’

‘Make the world a better place for yourself and your environment as a Muslimah. Don’t be a threat to your environment, be a character that everyone hopes to emulate.’

‘Nobody is perfect but as we continue in our struggles to be better Muslimahs Allah will surely help us.’ Etc.

These among other messages were what she advised to the Muslimahs, and no doubt, it was obvious these messages didn’t fall on deaf ears due to the attentiveness paid by the audience and the questions from the audience during the questioning segment, and these are indeed, messages to reflect upon each passing day of our lives if we so mean it a great deal to revive the sense of responsibility in us, otherwise it is such a painful thing to our souls to have been blessed with these powerful messages and still not act according to them.

I believe I can fly ( back to Allah) ! By Imam Abdul Wahab Jassaw

This is another somewhat disputable topic which sets thoughts running through our minds till justice was done to it.

‘I believe I can fly …. (back to Allah), how? This topic is telling us that if we will submit our will completely to that of Allah’s and fear Him, depend solely on Him and practise the Deen the accepted way then we will feel Him close hence to delight in the good relationship we have instituted with Allaah azza wa jal.

As we struggle to be better Muslims, we hope in our struggles that we will maintain a good relationship with Allah, therefore ‘I believe I can fly…. (back to Allah) literally means hoping in our efforts of becoming dutiful servants of Allah so as to get close to Him.

Imam Abdul Wahab gave a very detailed lecture on this wonderful topic in the second section of the seminar. He as well gave a lecture with full of advices and guidance to becoming a better Muslimah.

I really learnt a whole lot from this section too and anytime I reflect on the lessons acquired, I realised they are something worth making my life a beautiful one as a Muslimah.

I could read over them over and over and at each time I feel the need to live an exemplary life. However, the following excerpts are some of the sermon from the topic ‘I Believe I Can Fly……..(Back To Allah) lectured by Imam Abdul Wahab.

‘We need to be compassionate. In fact we must be compassionate as Muslims. Speak in a way that will not offend the feelings of others. Let your attitude make people inquisitive of your religion in a positive way.’

‘Be considerate when building up a good character. Consider the behaviour of others, they may not be as pious as you are. Tolerate their behaviours, talk to them with lots of patience and that will even help you in your good character building.’

‘Let’s carry ourselves along as we fly back to Allah. Don’t leave the weak in Eeman down the road! Yes! You may find certain faults in them but please advise them in such a way that they don`t see themselves as the worst people, and after you have advised them don’t shout their faults out to the world. You may use their mistakes to advice others but let names remain anonymous! If you are blessed to be pious please just help those down.’

‘What is your pride as a Muslim; Is it in material things? Is it the fact that you are a Muslim? What is your pride?

‘We are not where we are supposed to be in life because we have left Allah for long. It is about time we go back to Him to gain His full blessings; something that we really deserve’

This is it! These are the messages which helped me developed the spiritual wings to fly back to Allah, which I believe everyone present at the seminar have too.

The final section of the seminar treated a common but extremely important topic;

‘The Muslimah Muslimah Palaver’ handled by Aunty Zubaida Issah.

This topic discussed the various issues among women, and the ability to tolerate each other.

Women always find it very difficult to accommodate each other’s opinions, status, confidence etc for long therefore confusion always creeps in at wherever women are together. This is the reality among women.

But in actual reality we are supposed to coexist contrary to this kind of behaviour as love and tolerance are some of the main point Islam emphasises on.

Pride is one thing which destroys relations, friendship and even good reputation hence it should be dealt with as a matter of urgency.

Though this kind of self conceit attitude, gossiping, jealousy etc is with men as well, but it is very habitual among women.

The lecture went on and on and on appealing to the sense of humility in us to prevail over our pride and ego, which for sure that purpose was achieved, for as Muslimahs we must not engage in social vices such as backbiting, suspicion, giving bad nicknames to people and so on.

This topic ended the seminar successfully and personally I was so uplifted and hopeful that I was going to apply whatever I learnt to be able to revive the sense of responsibility in me, fly back to Allah and avoid any sort of ill feeling or whatsoever towards my fellow Muslimahs and the entire Ummah at large.

May Allah bless the speakers, and all those who honoured the invitation to make this educative program a success. May the entire team of RYF be granted with strength for more beneficial works ahead, and to the general public, keep praying and give your support to this noble foundation, for RYF is the birth of a great idea which has come to stay to help lift up the falling youth in Islam, especially the Muslimahs, in order to revive the Islam in them just as the foundation’s slogan goes; ‘Reviving the Islam in You’.

So dear Muslimahs, you are always welcome to RYF with any problem troubling you, and In Shaa Allah your problem will be solved.

All Perfections belong to Allah SWT alone.

Thanks Allaah for everything that comes your way, Because its always for a Reason!

In one of his articles, Dr. Bilal Philips (a famous Islamic scholar) narrates a story that involves tragedy, drama, and joy. The story is about an Egyptian teacher whose photograph appeared in a local newspaper. The picture showed his smiling and happy face with his hands stretched out and both thumbs sticking up; his father was kissing him on one cheek and his sister on the other cheek.

The newspaper narrated his story about working as a teacher in Bahrain. After a brief visit back home in Egypt, he was returning to join work and thus taking a flight from Cairo to Bahrain. However, at the airport he wasn’t allowed to get on the flight because he had one “stamp” missing on his Passport. This made the teacher distraught, thinking that his career was over because this flight was the last one back to Bahrain which would have enabled him to report back on time, missing which also meant that he would lose his job. He thus became quite frantic, but his endless crying, screaming, and explanations to the airport staff could not get him on the plane. His family comforted him to accept Allah`s decree.

Disappointed, he returned home only to learn a few hours later that the flight he was meant to take (Gulf Air flight GF072) crashed killing everyone on board.

While feeling sad for the passengers onboard, he along with his family thanked Allah for His decree. The day he thought was the most tragic day of his career and life, ended up to be the happiest one averting a tragedy for him and his family.

We are reminded of such signs in Surah al-Kahf, a surah that Muslims are instructed by the prophet to read every Friday. In it is the story of Prophet Musa (Moses) and Khidr. Khidr bore a hole in the boat of the people who took him and Musa across the river. This made Musa question (and object) to such an action as the owners of the boat were quiet poor and obviously weren’t happy to what was done to their boat. However, as it became apparent later, an oppressor King came down to the river and forcefully took away all the boats except the one with a hole in it. So the owners of the boat praised Allah due to the fact that there was a hole in their boat.

We learn from this story that in times of distress or when we desire something badly, we shouldn’t always assume what’s good for us and what’s not because Allah may have decreed a different outcome. As Allah says in the Quran (part of the verse):

“….and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” (Quran Al-Baqarah:216)

When struck by an affliction therefore, we have to be patient and in control of oneself. That is possible when we elevate ourselves to a high enough spiritual level where our Iman or Faith in Allah can help us ride the wave.

We can also stay in control by not losing our sense of reasoning that can help us provide better perspective of the situation. ibn al-qayyim said, “patience can be defined as a manner of spiritual superiority by virtue of which we refrain ourselves from doing evil. it is also a faculty of the intellect that enables us to live properly in this world.” Qatada said, “Allah has created angels having reason but with no desires, animals have desires and no reason, and man has both reason and desires. Therefore, if one’s reason is stronger than his desires, he is like an angel. On the other hand, if his desires are stronger, he is like an animal.”(ibn Al-Qayyim – “The Way to Patience and Gratitude.”)

The take away lesson for us is that we can improve the quality of our lives by making an effort to train ourselves to be patient, i.e. to elevate our levels of faith and to understand the dynamics that reasoning plays in staying patient.

As the prophet mentioned in a hadith,

“……..whoever strives to be patient, Allah will make him patient” (Al-Bukhari).”

The Women Legends of Islam who perfected their Eeman (faith)

Towards reviving the Purpose Driven Muslimah

12th December, 2014.
Assallamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatu

All praises are due to Allaah. We praise Him, seek His help, and ask for (His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allaah from the evil in our souls and from our sinful deeds. Whoever Allaah guides, no one can misguide. And whoever Allaah misguides, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah. And I bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is His servant and Messenger.
In the history of Islam we have of worthy legends, we tend to look to the past, hoping to resurrect the legacy of those great and honourable men and women who contributed greatly to the Ummah through their knowledge, wisdom, and courage. It is said that the people agonize when they find no one of significance to look up to. Fortuitously, society does not solely consist of the living, but also the dead. The greatest of the dead are still alive amongst us!
In shaa Allaah I am going to focus on the Women Legends of Islam, with hope and prayer that in shaa Allaah, their beautiful legacies will inspire and trigger us to do more of what they did! But however the purpose of this article of mine cannot be achieved if we do not have the love of Allaah azza wa jal and His servant Muhammad SAW firmly rooted in our hearts! (may Allaah make us of those who love Him and His messengers and prophets (pbut))

Firstly, The Muslim should always bear in mind that beautiful and articulate seerah, histories and stories of the Prophets, Messengers, Companions and mothers of the believers that we read and hear should not only induce our admiration for them or entertain but we should let it further trigger and motivate us to follow their good example, because they are excellent examples meant for us to emulate in shaa Allaah!

Merits and virtues of Knowledge vary depending on the extent of one’s adherence to it (knowledge). Knowledge is a sign of goodness, happiness and success. As the Prophet Muhammad SAW is reported to have said: “If Allah wants to favor someone, He grants him comprehension (understanding) of this religion.” [Sahih Bukhari vol.1 # 71, Tirmidhi and Musnad Ahmad]

So among the importance of knowledge is the practicing of the knowledge acquired! May Allaah favour us to be among those who understand Islam and practice Islam, Aameen
Women played an important role in the pre-modern Muslim world as scholars, poets, warrior, and business tycoons etc.

Let us just think about this! “what is the state of the muslim woman today?” and “what was the state of the Muslim women before?!” By Allaah! We should aim not to lead the men salat, neither should we aim to control men But what we seek to say is that we have read and heard a lot about our great Muslim women that lived on the surface of the earth! We aim to follow the beautiful and splendid example of the likes of Khadija bint Khuwaylid RA, Aaeysha Bint Abubakar, Nusayba b. Ka‘b al-Anṣārīyya, Khawla b. al-Azwar, Ar-Rumaisa, Aasiyah bint Mazaahim the wife of Pharaoh, Maryam bint ‘Imraan, Faatimah bint Muhammad, may Allaah be pleased with them all, Aameen.

The Messenger of Allaah salallaahu alaihi wa salam drew four lines on the ground, then he said, “Do you know what this is?” We said, “Allaah and His Messenger know best.” The Messenger of Allaah salallaahu alaihi wa salam said: “The best of the women of Paradise are Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid, Faatimah bint Muhammad, Aasiyah bint Mazaahim the wife of Pharaoh, and Maryam bint ‘Imraan – Radhiallaahu anhumaa ajma’een. (Reported in the Musnad of Imaam Ahmad 2663 and it’s Saheeh )

The question we should ask ourselves is that, what did these women do to deserve this rank?! If we really want to know we can always know and its not just enough to know but we should pick them as role model by following their beautiful legacies in shaa Allaah!
There are two common things in these women.
Firstly, their level of eeman (strong faith) and yaqeen (inner conviction).
These women had that state of conviction, where nothing can bring doubt into the heart because eeman was firmly rooted in their heart. They had more faith in what they believed, than in what they see and hear. They reached the level of Ihsaan (perfection in the faith in ALLAH).
Secondly, they were either a good wife or good mother, now let us remind ourselves of the history we know and have heard about them.
Aasiyah bint Mazaahim the wife of Pharaoh
Asiyah and Mariyam both raised up the great Anbiya (prophets of ALLAH) i.e., Musa (Moses) AS and Eesa (Jesus) AS.
The Trial of Aasiyah
One of these women was Aasiyah, the wife of Fir’own. Her eman in Allah thrived under the shadow of someone who said, “I am your Lord, Most High!” When news reached Fir’own of his wife’s eman, he beat her and commanded his guards to beat her. They took her out in the scalding noon heat, tied her hands and feet, and beat her perpetually. Who did she turn to? She turned to Allah! She prayed, “My Lord, build for me a home with you in Paradise, save me from Fir’own and his deeds, and save me from the transgressive people.”

It was narrated that when she said this, the sky opened for her and she saw her home in Paradise. She smiled. The guards watched astonished – she’s being tortured and she smiles? Frustrated, Fir’own commanded a boulder to be brought and dropped on Aasiyah( Ra) to crush her to death. But Allah took her soul before the boulder was brought and she became an example for all the believing men and women till the end of time:
And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe: the wife of Fir’own [Pharaoh] when she said, “My Lord, Build for me a home with You in Paradise, and save me from Fir’own and his deeds, and save me from the transgressive [disbelieving people] (Surah At-Tahreem 66/11).

Maryam bint ‘Imraan – Radhiallaahu anhumaa ajma’een!
Maryam RA accepted the qadar of ALLAH with faith. ALLAH Subhanahu wa Ta’ala honored Maryam RA

And when the angels said: ” Maryam, Allah has chosen you and purified you. He has chosen you over all other women. ” (Qur’an, 3:42)

Allaah introduces Maryam ( RA) as having the ideal Muslim woman’s character. When the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary – distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah ].
He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous.”
She said, “My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?” [The angel] said, “Such is Allah ; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.
And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel
And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], ‘Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allaah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of Allaah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.
And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear Allah and obey me.
Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path.”
(Quran Surah Al-Imran 3:45-51)
“And she who guarded her chastity, so We breathed (a spirit) into her through Our angel, and We made her and her son (Jesus) a sign for the worlds.”
(Quran 21:91)
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, “Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten.”
But he called her from below her, “Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream.
And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, ‘Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.’ ”
Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.
O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste.”
So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?”
[Jesus] said, “Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive
And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.
And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive.”
(Quran 19:22-33)

Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid

Khadeejah RA was an excellent wife. She supported Prophet Muhammad SAW during his hardest times in life. When people thought that, what he said was strange, she believed in him. She supported him, encouraged him and believed in him with no doubt but Yaqeen (conviction)!
She is known to us as Mother of the Believers (Ummul Momineen). And was the first person ever to accept Islam after it had been revealed to him by Jibreel (Angel Gabriel).

Khadija RA was an “eye-witness” of the birth of Islam. She nursed it through its infancy, through its most difficult, and through its most formative years. Islam was given shape and design in her home. If any home can be called the cradle of Islam, it was her home. She “reared” Islam. If any home can be called the “axis” of Islam, it was her home; Islam revolved around her home. Her home was the “home” of Glorious Qur’an – the Book of Allah (SWT), and the religious and political code of Islam. It was in her home that Jibreel (Angel Gabriel) was bringing Revelations from Heaven for ten years.

When Islam came under mounting pressure from its enemies, Khadijah RA sacrificed her comforts, her wealth and her home for it; and now it would appear that she sacrificed her life too, in the way of Islam. Without a doubt, if she had lived in her palatial house in Makkah, surrounded by her maid-servants, she might have lived for many more years. But she preferred to stand by her husband and his clan, and to share the hardships of life with them. It was this temperament that was an unfailing source of comfort, courage and strength for her husband during the blackest and trying moments of his life. Ayshah narrates that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) talked about Khadijah, it was in terms of the highest praise. One day her innate feminine envy overtook her sense of decorum and she spoke in disparaging terms of her, wondering why the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) missed her when he was blessed with a better, younger wife by Allah. This displeased him, but forbearing as he was, he just sighed and answered,

“I have not yet found a better wife than her. She had faith in me when everyone, even members of my own family and tribe did not believe me, and accepted that I was truly a Prophet and a Messenger of Allah. She converted to Islam, spent all her wealth and worldly goods to help me spread this faith, and this too at a time when the entire world seemed to have turned against me and persecuted me. And it is through her that Allah blessed me with children.”

There is definitely a lot to take this from, every Muslim should adopt many things from this relationship/marriage and try to implement the love Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace be upon him) had for Sayyida Khadjiah (may Allah be pleased with her) and vice versa. Also how they treated one another and how they worked together to spread Islam. Young Muslim women should learn from Sayyida Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her) to how much she was devoted to her husband and Islam.

This is LOVE! Ma shaa Allaah! My fellow muslimah reader, don`t you think we should follow Nana Khadijah`s examples to have for the sake of Allaah to have our love firmly rooted in that hearts of our hubby (Husbands) in shaa Allaah, guess what I have an assignment for you please! PLEASE FIND OUT WHETHER THE PROPHET EVER MARRIED ANOTHER WOMAN WHEN HE NANA KHADIJAH WAS ALIVE…no comments. Thank you
Faatimah bint Muhammad

She was born five years before her father was sent as a Prophet. Mohammed was 35 years old when she was born. She was born during the year when the Ka’bah was being rebuilt. She became a Muslim when she was 5 years old, as soon as her father was sent as a Prophet. She was the youngest Muslim in Islam.
What does the name Fatima mean? It comes from the word ‘fitam’ which means the one that is kept away from evil and bad character. Fatima has nicknames. Does anyone know them? They are ‘Zahraa’, ‘Umm al-hasan wal-husayn’ and the nicest nickname ‘Ummu Abeeha’.
From the extent of her love and affection for the Prophet, and the fact that she was always with him and trying to defend him, just as a mother has these feeling towards her child, so she became known as ‘Umm Abeeha’ by the Sahaba and scholars. She was called Zahraa because she greatly resembled the Prophet in that she was white and her cheeks were a rosy, pink colour, or as some scholars say it is because she is the flower of the Prophets peace be upon him life.
Nana Fatimah (RA) inherited the genius and wisdom, the determination and will – power, the piety and sanctity, the generosity and benevolence, the devotion and worship of Allah, the self – sacrifice and hospitality, the forbearance and patience, and the knowledge and nobility of disposition of her illustrious father, both in words and deeds. “Her generosity and compassion for the poor was such that no destitute or beggar ever returned from her door unattended. She was a very loving daughter, an exceptional wife and a great slave of ALLAH.
This is what made these four women as the best women of the WORLD. They were not great because of their beauty. They were great with relationship with ALLAH, they were active, supporting, and were steadfast in times of trial.

We must think about our priority. We must understand where the greatest reward is.
The greatest reward is always in seeking the pleasure of Allaah
These four women succeeded in perfecting their eeman (faith), Nana Maryam (Mary) was known for her chastity and the birth of the Prophet Eesa (Jesus), before her birth her mother already dedicated her to the service of Allaah azza wa jal, she was expected to be a male but she was a female she later had the divine birth of the Prophet Eesa, we know the rank of Prophet Eesa so it will be redundant for me to talk about, BUT what do we see to learn from this.

LESSONS FROM NANA MARIYAM
1- Dedicating your Child to the service of Allaah azza wa jal
Her (Mariam) Mother before her (Mariam`s) birth dedicated her to the service of Allaah! Can we do same dedicating the fruit of our womb to the service of Allaah, of course we cannot give birth to a Prophet because the Prophet SAW is the seal of the Prophets, BUT we can give birth to a child we will in shaa Allaah train to follow the good examples of the Prophets, Companions, Women of Legends of Islam (Nana Mariam, Aasiya, Khadijah, Fatimah, Aayisha, Ar-Rumaisa, and the rest may Allaah be pleased with them all)
2- Appreciate it when you give birth to a female to loose hope
3- Her chastity, Nana Mariam was a virgin
4- She was very prayerful

Now what lesson do we take from Aasiyah the wife of Fir`awn
1- She was not hard hearted, she was not arrogant so she could accommodate and groom Musa AS (Moses) in her palace.
2- She was married to a tyrant but could endure and resort to Allaah azza wa jal, my muslimah if your husband is so cold heartless and unbearable put him in your sujud, pray for Him, seek the help of Allaah for him, it could be a test from Allaah, you are his garment, don’t give up on him or broadcast him the world, fast and pray to Allaah, the help of Allaah is near and will surely come!
3- She never condoned and connived with the husband in his evil as affairs and deeds
4- She left her husband`s rank, riches and accepted Islam
5- She was tortured by the husband but she persevered and pray and Allaah favored her to see her abode in paradise. Allaahu Akbar Kabeerah
The lessons from Nana Khadijah
1- She was a wealthy business woman from a honorable tribe, she saw the good specs in the prophet SAW who was her worker, she ignored all the proposals that came to her and she proposed marriage to the prophet because she saw the integrity and trustworthiness in the prophet SAW.
2- She submitted all her wealth and business to the prophet SAW, she made the prophet her boss and her Ameer, She never after then controlled the Prophet but gave good counsel to the Prophet as a good wife does.
3- She stood firmly by the prophet in the times of trial
4- She never loosed hope in the prophet
5- She believed in the dreams and vision of the prophet
6- Her shoulder was always available for the prophet to rest on
7- Her child Fatimah was one of the women who perfected their eeman
8- She succeeded gaining the everlasting LOVE of her husband the Prophet Muhammad SAW
My fellow muslimah let us read more about this great woman of substance and the rest and follow their example.

The Lessons from Nana Fatimah

1- She is the daughter of a great woman(Nana Khadijah Ra) and a great man (The Prophet SAW), and she succeeded in being a great woman, and giving birth to great children (Hassan and Housain)
2- She loved the Prophet SAW
3- She supported the Prophet
4- She fed the poor and the needy
5- She was very prayerful and selfless

Righteous Heart

Righteousness of the heart is achieved by a few things.

Having a sincere intention for Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, in the righteous deeds. And remembering the Greatness of Allaah, the Majestic and Exalted, remembering that you stand in need of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, and increasing in the dhikr (remembrance) of Allaah. Allaah, the Most High, has said:
{Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah – Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allaah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allaah do hearts find rest.}
[Soorah ar-Ra’d (13): 28]

So from that which brings the heart to life, is increasing in the remembrance of Allaah. And verily, he (the Prophet) – sallal-Laahu ‘alayhi wa sallam – has said:

“The example of the one who remembers Allaah and the one who doesn’t remember Allaah, is like the example of the living and the dead.”

Also from the means of bringing the heart to life, is eating from halaal (legal, permissible food) and staying away from eating haraam (forbidden food). For verily, eating from haraam hardens the heart, corrupts the heart or makes the heart sick. Because bad food influences the heart and the body.

Also from the means of bringing the heart to life… Allaah, the Most High, has said:

{O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Tayyibaat (all kinds of Halaal foods which Allaah has made legal), and do righteous deeds.}

[Soorah al-Mu’minoon (23):51]

And Allaah has ordered the believers with that which He ordered the Messengers with. He said:

{O you who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah – Islamic Monotheism)! Eat of the Tayyibaat that We have provided you with.}

[Soorah al-Baqarah (2):172]

He should eat from the Tayyibaat, meaning: the permissible things. Because Allaah makes the Tayyibaat permissible for us and makes the Khabaa’ith (all evil and bad things) forbidden for us. So eating from the Tayyibaat, which are the permissible things, feeds the hearts a good meal. And eating from the Khabaa’ith feeds the hearts a bad meal.

That which makes the hearts sick as well, is listening to songs and musical instruments, which has increased alot in this time! And that which makes the hearts sick as well or makes it die, is being devoted to satellite TV, the internet and what is broadcasted in these media from wickedness, evil thoughts, forbidden desires and disgusting scenes. This is from that which makes the hearts sick.

Also, accompanying bad people and sitting with them corrupts the hearts. Similarly, accompanying the best people, the scholars and the people of khayr (good), is from that which brings the hearts to life.

Thanks a lot for reading and for your intention to practice for the sake of Allaah! May make it easy for us all, Aameen

My (Kabeerah`s) Genre to the Ideal muslimah

images HIJAB

My Genre to the Ideal muslimah
Everyone out there admires her intelligence and her integrity, Because she knows Allaah
She understands her religion
She Fears Allaah
She obeys Allaah and His messenger SAW
She is so intelligent and she won’t compromise her integrity
She is a concealed pearl
She yearns to grow in purity and in beauty like her mentors Nana Maryam, Nana Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with them)
She is ever glowing of all goods
She speaks good or remains silent
Her smiles soothes to the heart
Her recitation brings comfort to the heart with the help of Allaah
In the remembrance of Allaah does her heart find rest
Her modesty is so appealing that you just can’t help but seek istiqama (steadfastness) from Allaah for her
Her mouth is mostly moist with the remembrance of Allaah
She talks and walks Islam
She lives Islam, her character depicts Islam
She blocks all the paths that leads to evil, because she loves Allah and fears His wrath
She is never envious or jealous of people, Because she is naturally content
Dua is her weapon, she always seeks from Allaah in patience and in prayer
Her fulfillment lies in the pleasure of Allaah
She is not perfect, but she strives to attain perfection
Anytime she errs, she repents and seeks forgiveness from Allaah
She is never heedless because her heart is alive in Islam
She is ever mindful of Allaah
She yearns to get to that level where she should worship Allaah as though she sees Him azza wa jal (ihsan)
She has the ummah at heart
But then what`s secret? Allaah, Islam, Quran, and Sunnah
Assallaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatu

OUR ERA, WE ARE SHY OF OUR ISLAM! AND THEY ARE PROUD OF THEIR DISBELIEVE!

shy of Islam2nd November, 2014.

Assallamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatu
I woke up yesterday morning, after my fajr salat, I did some one or two things and decided to check on a sister who was not feeling too well the day before. She was asleep when I got there, so I decided to go and prepare her breakfast before she wakes up, as I walked outside my hall of resident, I heard my name ‘Kabeerah” I turned but didn’t see any familiar face around, then I heard the name again “Kabeerah” I turned and this time around it was my roommate who was just returning from aerobics. We started chatting, I realized some people were walking on the street in a sporty attire, so I asked my roomie whether the people walking on the street were with her at the aerobic ground. Then she said No, they’re church people, can’t you see them praying while walking. Ma shaa Allaah! Then I asked myself, could it be that they’re praying for the campus? Or……the reflection started right there…
The night before, I met a Muslim brother who, discussed the need for Muslims on campus to increase our dawah because the people of the other faith are not reluctant of their faith at all, they stand everywhere to say anything and even speak against Islam and condemn Islam even when a Muslim is passing by, Yaa Sallaam…
What are we doing as Muslims? An account was made of a Muslim who came to campus in Islam was later converted to Christianity, may Allaah save us from misguidance and guide her back to Islam, Aameen Ya GafuuruRaheem.
But then, who takes the blame, we should take the blame because we are her network and we are supposed to create a home of sisterhood for her, because the Muslim is always expected to have the dawah mood activated always I him/ her.
That reminds me of the words of Ameerul Mumineen, “I fear the day when the disbelievers are proud of their falsehood, and the Muslims are shy of their faith.”Umar ibn al-Khattab (Radi Allah Anhu)
We (Muslims) are even supposed to be doing dawah to them, but we are shy of them. Infact, we have billions of excuses for not doing dawah to them, Yaa Sallaam. But yet we admire Dr. Zakir Naik, he started doing His dawah, so we can also start doing dawah, Dr. Zakir Naik had a role model. He saw the good in Ahmed Deedat and decided to go that path. If you have seen the good in Dr. Zakir Naik, then please take that bold step #TurningPoint to go that path of dawah solely of the sake of Allaah with ikhlas (sincerity) and be steadfast have (istiqama) because it’s not easy but know that with complete reliance on Allaah azza wa jal victory is always achieved.
When Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allaah be pleased with him) accepted Islam, he didn’t keep it a secret, he boldly stepped out after saying his shahada to the Prophet (SAW), and announced it to the people of Mecca that he (Umar RA) had accepted Islam. Maa shaaa Allaah! Isn’t this beautiful? Umar was proud of Islam, Umar used to be anti-Islam, he was strongly against Islam and people of Mecca knew it. Infact he was even going to kill the Prophet before Islam entered His heart. Allaahu Akbar Kabeerah!
But when faith entered His heart, he was a different person altogether, in fact, let us go back to our seerah (history) books to read and learn more about our Prophets, our Caliphs, our mothers.
Dawah is an obligation on every Muslim. Dawah is not only about mounting the pulpit. Alhamdulillah Islam is a complete way of life, our way of walking is dawah, our response to sneeze is dawah, our beautiful recitation is dawah, our call to prayer is dawah, keeping our beard is dawah, our hijab is dawah. Maa shaa Allaah! Isn’t this beautiful? Alhamdulilaah I see all these as favours from Allaah aza wa jal to us, because this makes dawah so easy for us, so please I entreat us all to practice. My fellow Muslimah, don’t be shy of wearing the hijab because your classmates will laugh at you, my Muslim civil servants, don’t feel bad wearing your hijab because all the ladies in your office don’t dress that way. Know that your hijab is an obligation from Allaah azza wa jal and success and blessing comes from Allaah azza wa jal. Do you remember this verse in the Quran: (Quran 23:1) “successful indeed are the believers” I entreat you to read the whole chapter. You will love it. My fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, make Allaah your priority, make Islam your way of life and you are guaranteed success in all your endeavours with the help of Allaah aza wa jal.

Now let us talk about dawah, dawah is an invitation to Islam, a reminder about Islam, a call to the way of Allaah.
Allaah aza wa jal says in the Quran: surah Al Asr, Quran chapter 103
“By Al-`Asr.
Verily, man is in loss.
Except those who believe and do righteous deeds, and recommend one another to the truth, and recommend one another to be patience.”

In Quran 16 verse 125, surah Nahl, Allaah says
“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair preaching, and argue with them with that which is best. Truly, your Lord best knows who has strayed from His path, and He best knows those who are guided.”

Allaah azza wa jal says again in surah Al Baqarah verse 143 (Quran 2:143)
“Thus We have made you (true Muslims real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways)), a Wasat (just and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you…….”

Allaah azza wa jal says again in surah Al Ghafir verse 77 (Quran 40:77)
So be patient (O Muhammad SAW). Verily, the Promise of Allah is true, and let not those who have no certainty of faith, discourage you from conveying Allah’s Message (which you are obliged to convey).

What`s our excuse for not doing dawah?
1- I am not a scholar, yes you aren’t a scholar and you shouldn’t be a scholar to do dawah

2- I have little knowledge about Islam, yes you can still share the little you know, you can teach that 4years old neighbor`s son how to recite Suratul Fatiha, and please seek more knowledge about Islam, because seeking knowledge in Islam is an obligation on every Muslim.
3- I am not religious (first I have to be religious, then only can I work on others . . .), wait a minute (sigh!) you mean you are not really a practicing Muslim right? No no! don’t do that because Allaah says in the Quran 2:208 “O you who believe! Enter Silm perfectly, and follow not the footsteps of Shaytan (Satan). Verily, he is to you a plain enemy.”
From this verse it can be deduced that we should enter perfectly into Islam, we should practice Islam
4- Religion is a personal thing, how personal in relation to do dawah? Love for your brother what you love for yourself.

5- Not enough time, yes please time is a limited resource, but that should make us know that we don’t have to be reluctant about dawah, we were created to serve Allaah azza wa jal, dawah is a service to Allaah that can yield an unending reward for us in shaa Allaah.
6- May lose friends or job, that shouldn’t be a problem if only you apply this principle, “Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair preaching, and argue with them with that which is best….” (Q16:125). And always bear in mind that Allaah grants hidaya (guidance) to whom He wills.
Do not those who believe know that, had Allah willed, He could have guided all mankind? As for those who disbelieve, disaster ceases not to strike them because of what they do, or it dwells near their home until the threat of Allah come to pass. Lo! Allah fails not to keep the meeting.
From this verse we know guidance is from Allaah azza wa jal, and our duty is to convey the message

7- I feel embarrassed, am shy, oh No! Please don’t be shy, you should be proud of Islam, be proud to share the good news of Islam with them. Tell them how much Allaah loves them, remind them of their hijab. Remember if the generation before us were shy or felt embarrassed Islam would not have gotten to you and me! And aside that, now we have everything on a silver platter, earlier on our predecessors had to fight defensive battles, because they were being attacked because of their Islam, Refer to seerah(history): Sayyida Sumaiya was martyred , Bilal ibn Rabah was tortured but yet He stood firm and said Ahadun Ahad! May Allaah be pleased with them all. So please don’t feel shy to remind your fellow Muslims about Islam, and don’t feel shy to invite the non-Muslim to Islam. Remember if you don’t invite them they will invite you, the disbelievers are proud of their falsehood, and the Muslims are shy of their faith. SUBHAANALLAH!

8- I will do it when I am old, No please! don’t say that, don’t even think of that, our life is not guaranteed, we don’t know when we will take our last breath so we ought to be very mindful of procrastination. The time for dawah is today, there is no good time for dawah. The time is now!

I sincerely, don’t think we should have an excuse for not doing dawah, I hope you reason with me?! smiles…..
In conclusion, I would like us to reflect on the words of Ameerul Mumineen, “I fear the day when the disbelievers are proud of their falsehood, and the Muslims are shy of their faith.”Umar ibn al-Khattab (Radi Allah Anhu). There is no good time for dawah. The time is now! So In Shaa Allaah, atleast in a day lets try and tell someone something about Islam for the sake of Allaah aza wa jal. And in shaa Allaah you can start by sharing this message with family and friends, keep smiling for the sake Allaah! Its sadaqa.
May Allaah forgive me for all the mistakes I made in this write up, I pray that Allaah helps me practice this for His sake only, and I pray that Allaah makes this article a positive #TurningPoint for all the readers, Aameen.

Allaah is enough for You! just speak to Him aza wa jal

When you feel no one understands you, remember Allāh says,

“I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks” – Bukhari

• When you feel no one is there to help you, remember Allāh says,

“I will help you with a thousand Angels each behind the other in succession.” – Surah al-Anfal : 8-9

• When you feel the world has deserted you, remember Allaah says,

“Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything).” – Qur’an 20 : 46

• When you feel that the hardship is never ending, remember Allāh says,

“Verily, the help of Allaah is (always) near!” – Qur’an 2 : 214

• When your heart feels restless, remember Allāh says,

“Verily in the remembrance of Allāh, do heart’s find peace ” – Qur’an 13 : 28

• When you feel you have no one else to turn to, remember Allāh says,

“If he draws near to Me an arm’s length, I draw near to him a fathom’s length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed” – Bukhari

And remember,

“When Allāh tests you, it is never to destroy you. Whenever He removes something from your possession, it is only to empty your hands for an even better gift.” – Ibn al Qayyim RahimuhAllāh

Always bear in mind that Allaah is enough for you, no matter your condition despair not for Allaah is there for you, just speak to Him…(dua)
